Co-op and teen drivers
A letter from Co-op's customer relations manager
Dear Parents and Teens,
Co-operative Insurance is committed to keeping young drivers safe. For years, we've offered members the Stevens Advanced Driver Training Program in an effort to reduce teenage crashes.
The statistics are staggering. Sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds are the most likely drivers to have an accident; almost half of first-year drivers will have one. Drivers under 20 are involved in about 20% of all accidents and have the highest highway fatality rate.
The safest teen drivers truly understand the responsibility of operating a vehicle and consciously try to make good choices as drivers and passengers. Developing this safety-conscious attitude means committing to many hours of practice with their parents.
Skills training such as Stevens Advanced Driver Training Program is important for responsible teen drivers. It teaches basic necessary emergency recognition and reaction skills, reducing the frequency and severity of teen auto accidents.
Co-operative Insurance respectfully urges parents and teens to attend Stevens Advanced Driver Training together for a rewarding experience that can make everyone in the family a safer driver.
