Loss Prevention Representative

Co-operative Insurance Companies is seeking candidates for a Loss Prevention Representative to join our team. Our Loss Prevention Representatives operate primarily in the field, to support our underwriting process, by conducting on-site inspections and assessments to identify and mitigate risks for our members. In this role you will travel via company car to inspect properties in northern New Hampshire and the northeastern area of Vermont. You must be comfortable using computers, working with a wide variety of people, driving in inclement weather, and visiting working businesses and farm sites. 

As a Loss Prevention Representative, you will:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of residential, commercial and Farm properties to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Photograph buildings and other property subject to risk.
  • Provide safety training and resources to assist our farm, home, and business owner-members with risk mitigation.
  • Create reports based on site visits to reflect accurate valuations, current costs, and required modifications.
  • Collaborate with underwriters, claims adjusters, members and other stakeholders to effectively address risks.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and emerging trends in loss prevention.

Preferred candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • A working knowledge of agriculture, construction and/or fire safety.
  • Insurance industry knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An exceptional commitment to our members’ experience with our company.
  • Experience working independently.
  • The ability to traverse flights of stairs and walk on mixed terrain.

Only candidates who reside within commuting distance of our Vermont/New Hampshire territory  or who are willing to relocate to the area will be considered for this position.

Job Type: Full-time

The salary range for this position is $76,476 – $114,713 per year.  Pay is based on the applicant’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
